Tiana is a Chicagoan turned Georgian who has always been in love with books and reading. From an early age, she could be found in a corner, curled up, engulfed in a short story or combing through pages of chapter books with a flashlight late at night.
These formative memories helped shape her imagination, which was fueled even more throughout her college years, and well into her transition into a parent.
How did we start?
-
We’ve always had a dormant dream of writing a book. The idea of seeing our name on the book of a spine in a library or simply participating in a local book fair were quiet desires for us. After having our first child it only made more sense.
-
We spoke about what our ideas would look like on paper and began to list out what we needed to make it happen. Illustrator, publisher, etc.
-
Once the plan was done, it was time to execute. Every page was animated and every word was written.

Myer is from Durham, NC and the life and energy of the house. Yes, he’s the leader and sets the tone, but even more so, he is the personality of the house. He is the go-to guy who will ensure even the smallest of tasks get done in a big way. While attending the Naval Academy, he played football for the esteemed Goats. He joined the Navy as a Surface Warfare Officer and is still serving to this day.
Azai is the eldest. He is such a compassionate, intelligent leader who loves to make everyone feel welcomed and wanted. He can often be found doing cool make-shift breakdance moves, playing a video game, watching Sonic and Mario.
Avery is our wildcard middle child and relishes in the fact that he can keep us all running and on our toes. You’ll find him climbing out of his crib, grabbing a book and hanging out with a blanket and a stuffed animal. He is our inspiration for keeping our illustrations vibrant, and reminds us the pictures have meaning too.
We are new TWIN parents and cannot wait to see how they add to the family dynamic in their own special way.
“Give a Child the Gift of Self-Belief With a Book.”
There is nothing a book can’t do.
There is a book for every child, at every phase and at every point of their life.
A good book is the perfect tool for exposure. Unlike a movie or a show, a book is tangible and will allow a child to read or follow along at a pace that is perfect for them.
We believe Readers are Leaders.
What People Are Saying
“Being a native Chamorro and now living stateside, this book brought all kinds of emotions as I read it to my class! They love asking me questions about my home island of Guam and I love talking about it! This book was a great ending to all the readings and projects we did for AAPI Heritage Month! This is a must have for all teachers’ classroom library. I know my students kept asking me to leave it on the classroom library shelf so they could read it too :) *I teach second graders*”

“The creative writing project involves the entire family.
The USNA parenting team is already partnering on other projects, all while staying involved in their community. “
